Micah W. Smith, M.D. joined the team at SpineONE in 2013 after completing a Spine Fellowship at the University of Utah. He is board eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery and has served as a clinical instructor at both the George E. Whalen VA Hospital and the University of Utah.
Dr. Smith graduated from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN with a BA in Biology in 2003 and obtained his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 2007. He went on from a residency at the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program to complete his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford University. He has research experience regarding disc herniation and has won awards for his research in spine deformity and spine trauma. He is a member of the North American Spine Society and AO Spine.
Dr. Smith is passionate about serving as a missionary. He worked with the Christian Medical and Dental Association as an international medical missionary in Nicaragua and Honduras numerous times and has served on the Board of Trustees. Additionally, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, cycling, boating, snow and water skiing, soccer, and reading.
