Meet Dr. Karl
Dr. Karl joined Ortho NorthEast (“ONE”) in 2008 and specializes in Pain Management. He is an anesthesiologist with advanced fellowship training in pain management.
Dr. Karl treats most types of pain syndromes, including back, limb, neck, and joint pain. He focuses on non-surgical treatment options for Pain Management using a multidisciplinary approach. Treatment options might focus on the pharmacologic approaches to pain relief, while other patients may benefit from the interventional management of pain. Interventional procedures – typically used for acute or chronic pain – include: epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, neurolytic blocks, and spinal cord stimulators. Physical therapy and exercise also are used for patients who would benefit from those treatments.
Dr. Karl grew up in the Western Chicago suburbs and attended Benedictine University. He and his wife both attended St. George’s University for medical school. They chose to live in Fort Wayne because they knew the community from nearby relatives. It is also close to his wife’s hometown of Marion, Indiana.
Dr. Karl enjoys exercise, travel and dining out. He and his wife, Angela Karl, who is a family practice physician in Fort Wayne, look forward to providing quality medical care to Northeast Indiana.
