Meet Dr. Carlson

McLaren Macomb - Michigan State University, 2015-2020

Dr. Kyle Carlson, a board certified orthopedic surgeon, joined Ortho NorthEast in 2024.  Dr. Carlson specializes in adult joint replacement surgery.

Dr. Carlson grew up in Fort Wayne and attended Homestead High School. He then completed hisundergraduate degree at Manchester University studying biology and chemistry. For medical school, Dr. Carlson graduated from Kansas City University before completing his orthopedic surgery residency through Michigan State University. He then went on for specialty training in total joint replacements by completing a fellowship in adult reconstruction at the Detroit Medical Center.

“The best part of orthopedic surgery is helping patients that have significant debility and pain from theirinjuries or orthopedic conditions, and providing them with the care to get them back to the activities that they enjoy.” In addition to general orthopedic care, Dr. Carlson utilizes his advanced training to provide care to patients undergoing total hip or total knee replacement, revision total joint replacement, and treatment of infected or painful total joint replacements.

In his spare time, Dr. Carlson enjoys spending time with his wife, Katy, and two boys. He enjoys running, woodworking, fishing, and traveling with his family.
